If you run a list

How Waitsub works

A waiting list is a promise about order. Most of them cannot be checked, and that is where the trouble starts.

  1. 1

Bring across the list you already have

Upload the spreadsheet you are keeping today and tell us what each column means. Nobody loses their place in the move: the date they joined comes across exactly as it stands, and you see what would happen before anything is written.

  2. 2

Say who may join, and who comes first

These are two separate questions. Who may join covers members only, children of members, people someone nominated, or simply anyone. Who comes first covers seniority, first come first served, a lottery, points, or your own scoring. Keeping them apart is what lets one list cover a case that would otherwise need its own product.

  3. 3

Offer the place, in the order you promised

When something comes free, the engine works out who is next and emails them with a deadline. If they say no, the offer moves on. A decline is not the same as no answer, and neither is the same as being passed over, so none of the three gets recorded as the other.

  4. 4

Hand over the contact details, and stop there

Waitsub does not write agreements and does not take signatures. When there is a winner you get their contact details and arrange the rest yourself. Once the signed agreement comes back you confirm it here, and if it never does you close it and the offer opens to the next person.

Every movement has a reason attached

When somebody asks why they are number fourteen, the answer is already written down: what moved, when, who did it and why. Six kinds of decision cannot be carried out at all without a reason typed in first. That is not paperwork, it is the difference between answering a complaint and reconstructing one.

The date is a field, not a side effect

Seniority is stored as its own timestamp. It is not the day the profile was made, and where there is a registration fee it counts from when the money went through. It cannot be changed without a written reason, and the person it belongs to can read that reason.

You can see for yourself when we have been in your account

If our support ever acts inside your account, every one of those actions is in your log with our name on it. You never have to ask us: the log lives in your own account, the top of it says plainly whether we have ever been in there at all, and you can export the whole thing yourself in one click. A log that hides the supplier is not a log, and a promise you have to take our word for is not a promise.

If you are on a list

What you get as an applicant

Your exact position, how it has moved and why, an honest estimate of the wait, your payment history, and your whole record as a file you can download. All of it is in every plan, including the free one. We argue against people who charge for showing you your own place in a queue, so we do not do it either.
